Couturier and creative director. My work lives in two places — NEVAN TAU, an eponymous label of original garments, and Astrapia, a practice in luxury goods and collecting.
The garment first. Everything else is in service of it.
I design and produce original clothing under my own name, and I collect and deal in objects that are made with the same seriousness — designer pieces, and cards worth keeping. Both come from the same instinct: an interest in how a made thing is put together, and in what makes one worth more than another.
My background is in finance, and it shapes how these are built and run. But it isn't the work. The work is the pattern, the sample, the fitting, the object in hand.

An eponymous label of original garments — designed, patterned, and sampled by hand, then produced in small batches with suppliers I work with directly. Nothing here is resold or reworked from anything else. The label exists to make clothes that hold up to being looked at closely.

A practice in luxury goods and collectibles — designer pieces alongside graded cards. Sourcing, authentication, and condition are the whole of it. What I look for is the same in either category: something correctly made, correctly kept, and worth passing on.
